The Tale of the Tortoise
There was once a tortoise who lumbered along daily to get to a small pond. He went down a path, across a meadow and up a small hill. He had done this everyday his whole life and had never been bothered and he was quite old.
One day, as he lumbered along, counting his steps, ambling through the meadow, he glanced up and saw a few steps from him, sat a man on a blanket.
The man appeared just as surprised as the tortoise and in that moment, the tortoise knew itself, just as the man knew himself.
This is how the Tell know who they are. They remember the tortoise.
