The results of a few experiments

No decision yet. The last cover I attempted to mettalize the text in gold using PDN, but after I did it, I imported it back into paint and attempted to colorize. It didn’t work. So, it’s still incomplete.

  1. Getting closer, Carla πŸ™‚ I’d still reduce the width of the green a bit on either side. I’d also go with a flat gold colour, rather than metallised πŸ˜‰

  2. I’m not sure if it matters, but the image is slightly off-center on the green background. I don’t mind the total amount of green, esp. since the title and subtitle are built in at the top and author name at the bottom, but the image is closer to the bound side of the book when IMHO it should be on center.
I think the dark green and gold are nice, though. Wonder if some part of the book speaks to such bright colors (since the image is nearly pastel), or if that’s author’s choice.
    Much success!

  3. Hi Phyl. It does matter. Right now I’m still tweaking the color scheme and different elements, trying to find the right combination.
I can’t seem to find the right color of gold/yellow that works with this. I’ll post results tonight or tomorrow. Wish me luck.
